Thank you! God bless you for this history

of the workmen that traveled so far from home to find a wonderful country for their families to thrive and grow in! Only to end in terrible tragedy..& loss. As I read every name my eyes welled up and tears got in my way and made it difficult to read….

It was very strange, like My eyes did this on their own as I read those names.

The closer I got to the end of the list my heart kicked in and the imminent sadness of such a massive lose of hard working

Fathers, sons, Brothers, cousins Uncles best friends shoulder to shoulder entered heavens gates instead of their waiting homes.

God bless you for enlightenment due this tragic incident of our countries past.

I love the honest felt need to ‘bury’ the artists names silently with those men lost!!

I lift my hands to the most high God for allowing this grand honor to erupt from..

Depts of COAL!

Blessings

This made me cry…, I mean really cry And how very beautiful the numbers are their location and what they honour, along the cycling path for all to behold in wonderment and respect. All those anonymous creators have stolen our hearts. Erika, Rachel and your army of beautiful people, I love you and applaud you… The Ruins are beckoning, it’s been a while

We have all been crying here. I cried while I wrote it. We cried during install and every step along the way. Thank you so much dear Prerana.

Well done. A necessary compliment to The Ruins I think. Beyond, and beyond limitations. A story well told. Beautifully and heartbreakingly moving.

So astonishingly we’ll done! I am moved by your grace and humility for just doing this project with Maribel as lead artist and 52 anonymous artists is truly monument- worthy. Now it’s a “must visit” for sure!!!

Rachel and Mirabel - this is so powerful- the writing, the anonymity of the artists, raising the memories of the lives lost and families and communities torn apart. I'm in tears. To me, Mosaic world continues to be uniquely appropriate for telling

Such a sad story but a beautiful way to remember the boys and men who died. I think stories like this get swept under the rug because the owners of the mines don’t want people to how dangerous the mining work is/was .

I look forward to your writing and podcasts! They always get my brain percolating with ideas!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

What a poignant and thoughtful gift this post is, Rachel. Sending energy and strength to you as you walk this trail (and dig black thinset out of your cuticles!). Sending you some relevant photos I took on my last trip.
