Some projects are bigger than others.

The Jeffrey L. Sager Memorial Bridge was our big accomplishment in 2021-2022. It solved a problem while also being a work of art in the landscape itself. Crossing it to get to The Ruins is a thrill that has not worn off.

Subscribing to The Ruins Project means you understand that vision requires encouragement. Be an encourager!

The Wandering Wall will also solve a problem.

The Ruins is an inviting kind of place. It calls to people. Like an Appalachian siren, pulling travelers off their paths, to wander.

Especially people who are riding by it on their bicycles. They can see The Great Train and The Cathedral Window clearly from the trail. And if we have learned anything about travelers these last many years, it’s that they are a curious bunch.

But The Ruins is not a public space. In order to visit its art and history, you must have a tour appointment. The problem is, not every biker is a rule follower. We call these intrepid folks, wanderers. You may …
