Welcome to The Ruins Podcast. I’m Rachel Sager and for those new to the story, I am the owner and creator of The Ruins Project, a long- term mosaic installation in the woods of Appalachia. A former coal mine operation that has come back to life in stone and glass and ceramic in order to tell the story of the people who come from coal. To date, more than 250 artists from all over the world bring their talent to the walls of the giant cement canvas. My conversations with creators and makers are about the creative process, memories, nostalgia and above all, building with optimism.
